“Like all health fields, dentistry involves service to people. What’s unique about Kanemaru Family Dentistry is how much each person we serve becomes part of our family. I grew up in Wahiawa, a small country town where everyone knows everyone. It’s special to be able to further strengthen these bonds through the relationships formed at our office.”  ~ Dr. Kelli

Dr. Kelli Kanemaru-Takeuchi attended Northwestern University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. She completed a Masters of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) at SUNY Stony Brook. Returning to Wahiawa, Dr. Kelli has practiced dentistry since 2011, offering patients gentle, advanced dental solutions.

Dr. Kelli appreciates that dentistry is a constantly evolving profession. Combining knowledge, skill, and art, and drawing from past experience while incorporating leading-edge science, ensures constant improvement for patient care.

She is an active member of the:

  • American Dental Association
  • Hawaii Dental Association
  • Honolulu County Dental Society
  • Hawaii Dental Forum (Seattle Study Club)

These organizations offer numerous avenues of continuing education, provided by leading practitioners and researchers in oral health.

In attending meetings, lectures, and seminars, and learning from and alongside her colleagues, Dr. Kelli stays at the forefront of developments in dentistry. Doing so ensures she provides each patient with the best modern dental care and delivers lasting, healthy results.

Dr. Kelli is married and has two young children. The family also includes three dogs and a pet tortoise. If she’s not out with the kids, she tends to be a homebody: playing outside in the yard, finding creative art projects for the family to enjoy, and savoring the soon-to-be-elusive nap time – which is her free time!
